Health and Home Care Society of BC is a social enterprise that provides flu shot clinics and other health services to businesses and organizations in BC. All revenue from their Health Promotion Services supports charitable causes such as their Chinese and Western Meals on Wheels programs in Vancouver and Richmond, and their Family Respite Centre.
The following is a recent message from the organization:
With flu season underway, it is critical to get your flu shot if you have not already.
An article in the Province (Jan. 31, 2011) indicates that flu season generally peaks in February, and strikes about 20% of its victims in March and April. Similarly, Dr. Danuta Skowronsky of the B.C. Centre for Disease Control recently stated, "We are not an influenza-free zone. Flu season is not over so far and there can be an upswing towards the end."
However, if you have not yet received your flu shot, no need to worry - it's not too late. Health and Home Care has just over 1000 doses left, so if you missed out on our clinics this past fall, there is still time to protect your workplace from the flu.
For more information, or to book your clinic today, please contact myself, Kim Mitchell, at 604-733-9177, extension 177, or via e-mail at mitchellk@carebc.ca. Alternatively, you may also book your flu clinic online via our website.
Kind regards,
Kim Mitchell
