Social Enterprise Specialist 

In this role you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the Enterprising Non-Profits (enp) orientation sessions, granting process & meetings, learning events, and overall program administration.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plans and organizes special events including learning events, enp orientation sessions, partner meetings and other events
  • Coordinates all enp Committee activities and granting process including meeting and materials preparation, minute taking and follow up with the non-profits
  • Accountable for the development of reports for all funding partners, such as grant outcome and social impact analysis through maintaining the database for the enp for the funders, social enterprise program and internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate and administers enp programs including orientation sessions and liaises with funders and non-profits organizations
  • Develops all year end, audit and project reports for the enp and social enterprise programs
  • Acts as point of contact for the enp and social enterprise programs to coordinate social enterprise related inquiries
  • Performs other duties as directed by the manager

Education and Experience

Competencies for this position would typically be acquired through the completion of a university degree. - AND - A minimum of three years experience working within or with the non-profit sector and with experience in program and administrative functions.  - OR - An equivalent combination of experience and education.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including report writing 
  • Strong event planning skills 
  • Strong ability to work independently to determine stakeholder needs, set own priorities and respond appropriately 
  •  Strong strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute plans based on a strategic direction
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills and communication skills with staff, management, and community groups and other stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, database management, spreadsheet programs
  • Values and Commitments and Vancity Community Foundation's mission and mandate
  • Strong ability to motivate self coupled with strong research and report design skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills \
  • Solid understanding of the work and function of registered charities and non-profit organizations in Canada and knowledge of the non-profit environment in BC
