Terrance S. Carter
Managing Partner of Carter’s Profession Law Corporation, practicing in the area of charities and non-profit law and trade mark law. He is a part member of Canada Revenue Agency’s Charity Advisory Committee, Chair of the Charities and Not-For Profit Law section of the Canadian Bar Association and editor and contributor to the Charity Law Bulletin, and Anti-Terrorism and Charity Law Alert.
Kenneth Dibble
Executive Director, Legal Service and Compliance, of the England and Wales Charities Commission. He has responsibility for the provision and management of the Commission’s legal services and compliance as well as responsibility for its international programme. He has twenty years of experience in charity law and regulation, is a barrister by profession and had a previous career in banking and insurance.
Thomas Kelley
Faculty supervisor for the Community Development Law Clinic. In that capacity, he works with third-year law students who provide legal counsel to community based nonprofit organizations across North Carolina. Professor Kelley also teaches and writes on the Law of Nonprofit Organizations, and on International Law and Development. His Nonprofit Law scholarship focuses on the emerging 4th sector: hybrid for-profit/nonprofit organizations that are changing the face of American charity and philanthropy.
Ilse Treurnicht
Chair of the Canadian Task Force on Social Finance: Mobilizing Private Capital for Public Good. She is also CEO of MaRS Discovery District, a leading innovation center that supports innovators and enterpeneurs building Canada’s next generation of technology companies and social impact businesses. The Task Force Report, December 2010, outlines actions to be taken to mobilize new sources of capital, create an enabling tax and regulator environment, and build a pipeline of investment-ready social enterprises.
