Mr. Martin, a strong proponent of social enterprise, will welcome and address a crowd of 200 social enterprise practitioners and supporters from across the country. His talk will inspire and prepare delegates before they begin a two-day Policy Forum, (November 19th and 20th) and work towards crafting a national policy agenda that enables social enterprise to thrive in our country.
The Opening Night Networking Event is open to all conference delegates. If you haven't yet, please register soon, at: www.secouncil.ca.
We hope that you will join us for Mr. Martin's talk followed by cocktails and conversation. Mr. Martin will be speaking at approximately 6:00pm.
The Third Canadian Conference on Social Enterprise: Why you'll want to be there... Social enterprise is a proven model for creating employment, bringing needed goods and services to communities, promoting innovation in the marketplace, enhancing the delivery of social, environment, arts and cultural services, and strengthening the sustainability of non-profits - all of which can promote economic growth and revitalize local economies. Social enterprise is a real solution in the current economic climate, where communities across the country have been decimated by the collapse of the manufacturing sector, the financial crisis and rising rates of unemployment.
The Opening Night Networking Event is put on with the generous support of kidsLINK and the Centre for Social Innovation.
