The Collaborative for Innovative Social Enterprise Development (CISED) is the enp partner in Ottawa. CISED’s goal is to create a continuum of support for social enterprise in the city of Ottawa including access to technical expertise, financing, learning communities, training, and cross-sector partnerships.
CISED and Enterprising Non-Profits are working together to launch enp-Ottawa, a pilot program based on the successes of enp programs in BC and Toronto. As part of this pilot, CISED, with support from the Community Foundation of Ottawa, will be administering a grant funding initiative to seed and support social enterprise in Ottawa as they start or expand their social business.
CISED was established in 2009 with the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, as a collaborative of seven partners, each of which offers expertise to support the development of social enterprise in the nation’s capital:
Enp is a collaborative program that provides grants and technical assistance to non-profit organizations to support the development or growth of their social enterprises (i.e., revenue generating businesses). Enp holds Social Enterprise workshops for non-profit organizations wanting to learn more about social enterprise and how to gain access to enp grants for business planning projects.
