Assessing Readiness

Resource format: Presentations

A presentation of the 2007 Canadian Conference on Social Enterprise, Vancouver BC
Presenter: Michelle Colussi, Development Wheel Project, Centre for Community Enterprise

Session Description:
Is your organization ready to embark upon the planning and development path towards social enterprise? Assessing your oganization's readiness is an essential but often overlooked step in the planning process. This session uses the Development Wheel to outline the key tasks and decisions required for social enterprise development. Participants will work through an assessment of their readiness to undertake social enterprise development and to identify the priority steps needed to advance their interest in social enterprise. As their social enterprise develops, the tools provided will be useful for ongoing planning and management. Even though this session is for early stage organizations, it can be applied to existing social enterprises interested in assessing their progress.
