Financial Literacy for Social Enterprise

Session Description:
The development of social enterprise also requires the development of new skills, knowledge and even language ! This session will introduce participants to the language of financial statements and how the terms and concepts are broken down and applied to social enterprise. Unveil the mystery behind terms such as: forecasting, pro-forma, and gross margins. Participants will walk through a balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and profit & loss statements. You will be given the basics of financial analysis, how to develop forecasts and projections and what information is the most useful and important in charting your organizational health and growth. This session aims to increase participants' comfort level with basic financial concepts and terminology.
