Social Enterprise in Australia, A preliminary snapshot

Resource format: Papers & Reports
June 2010 Finding Australia’s Social Enterprise Sector is a joint initiative of Social Traders and the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, Queensland University of Technology. The Centre’s Social Enterprise Research Program is supported by QUT and the Westpac Foundation. The research presented in this report benefited from the contributions of more than 500 people and organisations. The research team wishes to thank all those who gave generously of their time and experience, including: • Thirty-eight people who participated in the original project workshops and interviews, that helped frame the definitions and survey instrument; • 157 people who contacted us via the project website to tell us of a social enterprise they knew; and • 539 organisations that participated in the online survey.
